1.3 Tapping vs. Holding

Every button has two gestures: tap for the primary action, hold for the secondary.

Every Dock button has two gestures:

  • Tap → primary action.

  • Hold (1 second) → secondary action. A progress bar fills up to confirm.

Examples:

  • Tap − to scale in. Hold − to set minimum.

  • Tap + to add a group. Hold + to unwrap it.

  • Tap ✕ does nothing (safety). Hold ✕ to remove.

When in doubt, hover for the primary action tooltip. Hold briefly to see the secondary one.
